Well sometimes you have to brag a bit

I run a poker game with some friends from work (sit and go rebuy). The last two nights I won both games. I have to say I felt good about the way I played, I got lucky a few times, once with a hand I probably should have folded, even though we were heads up. I had help from the bullets to win me the last game. It’s been good fun!

I’ve not don’t any more updates yet with the master list yet as I’ve rather naively found the YouTube playlists and there is a good version all in order (see 2005 WSOP Main Event here), so I will rethink what I want to spend my time on here and if this is the best use of it.

You may notice gaps between posts. Don’t worry, this is the fact I am a project junkie with limited time and a chronic disorder that is a drain on my energies sometimes.

Anyway don’t want to end on that. I love the world of poker, I’m learning loads and will post back soon once I’ve collected some recent thoughts into a more presentable manner. Before I leave you I want to pass on this from the new links page that I’ve been sent: http://www.bestpokermoments.com/

PS: Yes I know the title doesn’t quite makes sense with regards to strict poker terminology as I understand it, but sometimes you have to play with words when you write

(As in ‘live cash’ refers to when you have money instead of chips in front if you, but we were playing a sit and go so that’s not the same thing, but what I mean is with people in the same room, not over the internet)

Quad Queens

Just a quick post that seemed to want to be recorded. I had Quad Queens for the first time ever yesterday. As is often the case with these rare hands there was little action and even if you do get any, because of the unfamiliar situation, your lack of experience with the hand can impair the way you play it. But hey that’s poker.

Anyway I’m working on the next master list for the 2005 WSOP Main Event. Once I’ve watched it and it’s completed I’ll post it again here. Personally I’m trying not to cringe at the amount of money I’ve lost this week. I’ve had a great week of poker followed by a very devastating one for my tiny bankroll. But again that’s poker. I am glad that this is the first time this has happened in over 3 months, so can’t complain really.

Hello World!

Welcome to Passion for Poker! This site may seam a bit empty right now but this has been one of those ideas that has just occurred to me when I have little actual time to work on it. However, I want to give you a idea of what to expect here shortly. (If you want to sign up to the RSS when I launch click here)

I know that poker will be with me the same way writing and computers will probably always factor in my life. I’ve only been playing poker about 18 months but it’s enough to notice the signs of a new passion forming. Therefore I’m writing the story, whatever happens, whatever I learn I will try to share as much of it as I can here. Also as I watch or read something relating to poker I’ll link this content here with reviews when I can. This also provides a platform to share any tools I might generate for poker as well.

I’ve needed something like this to focus my writing and webbing in a new fun direction. Poker is good for me because it’s a way of letting off steam by playing, balancing my workaholic temperament. Poker gives me something to look forward to at the end of a day or week. Being able to mix this with things I consider to be ‘work’ allows them a new lease of life. I guess what I’m saying is I think I’ve finally found my niche, right here at Passion for Poker!
